After few days of porting / testing. Finally i removed my evil vmware and start everything from new in QEMU. QEMU is still seems to be abit compare to vmware. But at this time things working fine , even with KQEMU.
Well, of course I am very looking forward for KVM to be implemented. I guess i will not run it until Kubuntu / Ubtuntu runs with it.Abit more information on KVM (Slashdot).
We talked about switching over to Qemu from vmware. Now, we gonna talk about running Qemu on FreeBSD 6 with Bridge mode. But, why bridge mode ? This virtual box gonna be my testing box and i need to access from other machine. Unlike the virtual box inside my notebook, which only need to access from my notebook.
Again, we are gonna talk about. Installing qemu on FreeBSD (with ports) and network settings will be Bridge. This is unlike bridge mode for network monitoring. This is bridge for accessing internet.
From QEMU home page,
QEMU is a generic and open source processor emulator which achieves a good emulation speed by using dynamic translation.
Why not qemu in the first place ? At first i was a big time qemu fan. But Windows XP and kqemu doesn’t work well most of the time. So, I need to move to VMware. Vmware workstation 5 seems to be much more faster compare to QEMU without kqemu. No doubt QEMU is much more light weight, but Vmware is still the way to go.
